New to the market

Newly built venues and venues that have recently become available for corporate events

Updated on 02 November 2018

New to the market

The London 2012 Olympics has had a massive effects on the capital's events market. Refurbishments, extentions and new openings have been happeninf thick and fast, and continue to do so beyond The Games themselves. And it's not just venues close to the Olympic Park that are becoming available, central London has seen an abundance of new entrants to the market too.

On this squaremeal.co.uk compilation we not only give you all the venues that are newly-built and recently opened, but also those locations that have recently opened their doors to the corporate events market. The variety of options on offer is impressive. From funky music venues and nightclubs, which work well for Christmas and New Year’s Eve party hire, to conference centres and livery halls, which are ideal for large corporate meetings, AGMs or drinks receptions.

Don't forget the restaurants too, which work well for a dinner, business meeting or even a sports screening. There are restaurant venues available in the City or in the West End - a lot with private dining rooms - depending on which is the most convenient.

Max Standing 400

47 Whitcomb Street, London, WC2H 7DH

From live-music specialist The House of Song, this is the Leicester Square sister to The Piano Works. The concept is this: write your request on a napkin from one of the light-changing tables, and the two piano vocalists and their accompanying musicians will play it on the large stage during their non-stop set. The Blue Room, with its own grand piano, can be hired exclusively for groups to take part in ‘Can’t Sing Choir’ singing lessons or cocktail masterclasses.

No expense was spared in creating this quirkily named Mayfair restaurant. Picture a Damien Hirst bronze mermaid wall panel, Frank Gehry lamps on the lava-stone bar and striking onyx fixtures everywhere. Once groups have taken this all in, the place to be is the Bond lair-style private room, where they’ll find two large coral-reef fish tanks. Fashionable plates of tuna tartare, beef-rib skewers and Madagascan prawns with salsa are on the menu.

London Camden Triangle, Camden Lock Market, Chalk Farm Road, London, NW1 8AB

This 2018 new opening captures all of the most enduring modern event trends under one rectangular roof. Divided into zones, rather than rooms, Camden House is an airy, daylight-flooded, easy-access blank canvas. Even the venue’s central bar subdivides, giving its largest sub-space a private bar to go with its private entrance. That said, Zone 3’s biggest feature is probably its retractable roof. In all three zones, bi-folding walls and doors soundproof smaller events. For celebrations, the 2:30am licence is worth noting.
