Spend Christmas in the characterful surrounds of The Harcourt this year, a Grade II-listed Georgian property between Edgeware Road and Marylebone. With an established reputation as a fine dining restaurant, this gastropub of sorts serves Nordic-inspired fare in characterful period surroundings.
Whether it’s a festive meal for four or a celebratory end-of-the-year bash, The Harcourt offers a wealth of spaces in which to drink, eat and be merry. Start with a welcome glass of prosecco before moving on to gravadlax with potato salad followed by slow-cooked turkey breast with stuffing and cranberry compote. Finish with a seasonal berry sherry trifle, or Christmas pudding with Akvavit custard, for a Scandi-inspired twist on a classic Christmas feast.
Before you decide what to eat, you need to decide where to eat it! The Harcourt offers a plethora of rooms for exclusive hire: The Black Room, The White Room, The Whiskey Room and The Garden Room. Each come with their own distinct decor and features, to ensure every dining experience is unique and special.
Smaller groups can hire either the Black Room or Whiskey Rooms, which both offer large tables of up to eight people in an intimate space. The former is a dark and moody affair, with black walls and curtains creating a seductive, glamorous vibe, while the latter in contrast offers wood-panelled walls and comfortable leather chairs, for a rustic-feel hideaway.
Larger Christmas parties can hire the White Room or Garden Room. The former is decorated in a traditional style, with two fireplaces, impressive chandeliers and beautiful paintings on the walls, while the Garden Room is suited to parties of up to 60 guests, perhaps for an office Christmas dinner or big family drinks reception? If it's the latter you're after, the drinks menu offers an impressive array of spirits, draught beers, cocktails and wines.
