The Postal Museum is a semi-subterranean event and party venue in Farringdon, spread across two distinct sites, The Postal Museum itself, and the Mail Rail - a cavernous underground vault, complete with access to the Post Office’s secret 100-year-old mail railway, which snakes its way under the streets of central London.
The latter is no doubt one of the most unique event spaces in London, making it ideal for Christmas parties! The huge underground vault was once a depot for the railway, but these days it makes an ideal blank-canvas space that can be outfitted and decorated in all manner of ways, including with Christmas trees and other decorations. The mail rail itself leads off from the old depot - specially-constructed passenger trains carry 20 guests at a time around the old mail railway, and a variety of tour packages are available as well so you can learn about London’s secret underground tunnels. The whole Mail Rail space has capacity for up to 275 standing guests or 150 seated all-in-all, making it an ideal space for large corporate parties and Christmas gatherings.
Over the road and above ground, you’ll find the Postal Museum itself - a bright, contemporary space that is also flexible enough to suit a multitude of occasions. The museum has its own private courtyard, and again, can be set up for a Christmas drinks party or a proper sit down meal. For more intimate gatherings there’s the Learning Room - a cosy meeting room above the museum itself, with capacity for around 30 dinner guests.
The Postal Museum handles all catering internally, but when you hire the space you also have access to a little black book of suppliers who can help with anything and everything, from decoration to entertainment and event planning.
