If turkey and trimmings fill you with dread, you really ought to book your Christmas party at Burger & Lobster’s West India Quay restaurant instead. Originally a warehouse used to store imported goods from the West Indies, such as tea, sugar and rum, this Grade I-listed building is now home to different kinds of delicious goods including (but not limited to) Nebraskan beef, Atlantic lobsters and premium spirits that are whipped up into hearty feasts for hungry punters, courtesy of the chefs and bar staff at Burger & Lobster.
If that all sounds good to you (and we can’t imagine that it doesn’t), there are two spaces available for hire: the Tap Terrace and the Lobster Tavern. The Tap Terrace is a lively al fresco space that’s ideal for standing receptions throughout the year. Festooned with lights and overlooking the quay, it’s a fantastic space for a mulled wine or glass of bubbly during the festive season.
The Lobster Tavern is located upstairs and is ideal for those who still want views of the quay, but from the warmth of a cosy tavern. This space is full of traditional features, including original wooden beams, and is ideal for eating, drinking and merrymaking in the colder months. It also comes with its own bar making it ideal for festive drinks-only receptions if your budget is solely for drinks.
If you are dining, you’ll be pleased to hear that Santa Claws is coming to town and bringing a festive lobster feast with him. Available for groups of ten or more, the set menu includes a glass of bubbly, sharing starters, lobster bisque, a whole steamed or grilled lobster with trimmings and a warm dessert. Drinks packages can be arranged separately, depending on your requirements. It’s an ideal spot for any companies working in Canary Wharf or near a DLR station that are looking for an alternative Christmas party venue.
