About Benares

Description

Celebrate the festive season at one of the finest Indian restaurants in London - Michelin-starred Benares – where refined yet authentic food, stellar service and a luxurious setting come together to create a dining experience like no other. Well-versed in entertaining, Benares boasts four spectacular private dining rooms, each one offering its own distinctive sense of style and purpose, so that whether you're planning on toasting the end of year with a group that’s large or small, Benares is bound to have a space to suit.

Its smallest space, and most intimate dining experience, is the chef’s table which can seat up to eight guests at a time and allows diners to watch their food being prepared by chefs in the open kitchen. This is a great option if you’re hosting a small group of clients and really want to impress, with guests able to chat to the chefs while dining on a bespoke menu with matching wines.

The Wine Room, or Sommeliers Table, is a little larger with seating for up to 10 guests - the perfect place for wine-lovers to gaze on the restaurant’s impressive collection. Here, guests are seated around a single table and surrounded by the world’s finest and rarest wines, while high-backed padded chairs, white linen tablecloths and glamourous show plates create a gastronomic feel. This room offers a glass panel that looks out onto the main bar area.

The Berkeley Room seats up to 16 guests and is a great option for festive family gatherings or an intimate work party. This sleek and immersive space features an impressive wine wall, handcrafted ornamental doors, terracotta walls and beautiful artwork. Finally, the largest private dining room at Benares is the Dover Room for up to 36 diners. The long space boasts dark wooden panels and crimson prints to create a cosy ambience, while sliding doors offer access to the main restaurant.

Benares offers a range of menus, from a la carte to tasting to set options, as well as the opportunity to create bespoke menus for events and parties. Expect the likes of baked malabar scallop with coconut curry, chooza tikka masala made with poussin, san marzano and fenugreek gravy, and celeriac kebab with moringa oil.
