This all-day British restaurant and bar in Bankside offers a relaxed and stylish space to enjoy classic dishes while soaking up unrivalled views of the River Thames. Serving seasonal menus and a considered wine list, Swan at The Globe is suited to multiple dining occasions, from lunch and dinner to afternoon tea and a slap-up Sunday roast.
As a staunchly British restaurant, Swan takes care to source all of its ingredients from across the UK, including seafood caught in UK waters, meat sourced from Cumbria, cheese from nearby Neal’s Yard Dairy in Borough Market, as well as English wines and London beers.
The dining room offers a bright and modern aesthetic, with smart but classic wooden tables and chairs, large paned windows and a bar where punters can sit for a glass of wine and nibbles if preferred.
The a la carte menu features a gamut of dishes where British produce is placed at the fore. You might start with the likes of winter vegetable open ravioli with wasabi mayonnaise and balsamic caviar, or Scottish game and pistachio terrine with red onion chutney and toasted sourdough. The mains are separated into dedicated sections for vegetarian, fish and meat. Here, examples include poached south coast plaice fillet with prawn ravioli and winter vegetable tagliatelle, pearl barley risotto with broccoli, sun-dried tomatoes and herb dressing, and roasted highland venison with poached quince, braised red cabbage and a port and Madeira sauce.
The a la carte offering is served alongside its River Menu, a set two or three-course option available throughout the week. While on the wine front, the Swan’s collection has been carefully curated to include bottles from around the world, including a number of English-produced favourites and award-winning wines. Discover bottles from the likes of Rathfinny Estate, Chapel Down, Nyetimber and more.
