The Belvedere restaurant is one of London's finest, and can be found near the lavish gardens of Holland Park. Here, you can enjoy a traditional taste of Italy with a menu that has been created by head chef, Lello Favuzzi. “Born in Sardinia, Belvedere’s Lello Favuzzi started his culinary journey by learning to cook in his parents’ kitchen. Regularly helping his grandmother make fresh, home-made focaccia, pasta, and other traditional Italian dishes, showed Favuzzi that delicious food brings people together.”
Lello likes to work with small scale suppliers so that the restaurant's menu reflects the seasonal produce that is available, and with ingredients that are sourced from villages across Italy, including black winter tomatoes from Sicily, earthy porcini mushrooms from Umbria and radicchio tardivo from Veneto.
The a la carte menu includes starters of fresh artichoke and avocado salad along with sturgeon black caviar, and calamari fritti with crispy kale and artisan apulian burrata. For your main, try the beetroot ravioli with smoked burrata, hazelnuts and balsamic, or the paccheri with white fish and saffron. Other mains include the wild sea bass fillet with romanesco and lovage sauce, along with charcoal cauliflower with tahini, yoghurt and chilli sauce. There are pizzas to try, too, including one topped with pear, gorgonzola and pecans, and another with truffle. On the side of your main, try the hand cut chips, purple broccoli, roasted Jerusalem artichokes or winter tomato salad.
Dessert is equally as delicious at the Belvedere, and includes the blueberry and almond tart, some Sardinian cannoli, a white chocolate mousse and tiramisu with sanded hazelnuts. There is also a cheese selection, along with cognac and armagnacs and digestifs.
