Dinnerat for four at The Grill in August 2011 was very good if a little expensive for what it was however.On the basis of this experience we booked dinner for three at 7pm on Christmas Day and were sent a sample standard Grill menu but were assured that the Christmas Day menu would contain additional festive choice. To double check I personally visited The Grill the evening of December 10th and the suited gentleman claiming to be the restaurant manager assured me that indeed there would be turkey and other festive foods on the menu. On arriving at 6.30pm for pre dinner drinks on Christmas Day we took seats in the bar adjacent to a couple of hotel guests who were having a rather heated discussion with the restaurant manager as there was only a standard menu on offer and not the promised Christmas Day additional choices; clearly we had both being given the same false information when booking. After this disappointment and not the slightest apology from the po-faced restaurant manager (who I had spoken to on December 10th) there were only 15 covers in the Grill and zero atmosphere with the staff clearly not wanting to be there. An experience not to be repeated.
