St Pancras Brasserie & Champagne Bar by Searcys

Looking every centimetre the classic French brasserie, but boasting a thoroughbred British menu, this restaurant within St Pancras International is born out of the best of London and Paris: a true culinary entente cordiale. Warm woods and brass fittings form the backdrop, with smartly clad staff delivering equally smart food. There’s always plenty of shellfish, from rock oysters to scallops; otherwise start with something warming – Dorset crab Waldorf salad, say. Mains continue the patriotic theme (chicken and leek pie, and 45-day aged rib of beef) and even breakfast takes its cue from this side of the Channel: think yoghurt with spiced pear and smoked salmon. Only the one-page wine list makes the return trip to the Continent, with a French-led selection plus a smattering of bottles from elsewhere.

Classed amongst one of the most iconic places to eat and drink in London is Searcys St Pancras Brasserie and Champagne bar. The former is decorated in an art-deco style by Martin Brudnizki, where guests can enjoy an all-day menu of British seasonal plates, seven days a week. While the Champagne bar – famously the longest in Europe – enjoys panoramic views of the main station which guests can drink in while they sip on glasses of bubbles.  

Sit back in one of the Champagne bar's private leather booths, complete with its very own ‘press for Champagne’ button (cool, right?). Here, you can sample some of Searcys very own private label range – Searcys Selected Cuvee – along with other luxury Champagne brands. You’ll find a lengthy list of Brut varieties along with Champagne Rose, Blancs de Blancs and Prestige Cuvee. And the list goes on. Guests can order either smaller sharing plates or a full-blown meal from the bar menu, with many dishes mirroring the offering in the brasserie. We recommend a sharing board of artisan British cheeses with home-made apple and grape chutney.  

Inside the brasserie you’ll find old station clocks and vintage-inspired lighting designed to transport you back to the golden age of travel. The idea is that this 20’s style dining room transports guests to another time and place, even with the busyness of the main station just moments away. From signature dishes to old-school classics, there’s bound to be something that takes your fancy. Look out for Searcys Creedy Carver chicken pie, Cornish cod fillet with salt cod fritters, chorizo and Romanesco cauliflower, plus rib of beef on the bone with peppercorn sauce and triple cooked chips (for two). Puddings are rich and decadent: think sticky banana pudding with almond brittle and banana ice cream, as well as a coffee custard tart, sesame tuile and chocolate sorbet.
