About

Bringing a touch of Bollywood glamour to Glasgow’s Sauchiehall Street is The Indian Gallery, a Tandoori with a difference. With a sensuous monochrome interior, lighting effects for a dramatic vibe, dark wood floors, glass balustrades and swagged window dressings the look is part retro-theatrical part future-Bollywood. With highly skilled chefs manning the kitchen expect the very finest in modern and traditional Indian and Asian cuisine. A selection of curries ranging from well known hot dishes to milder specialities, encompassing vegetables, fish and meats plus a glorious selection of both European and Eastern starters and desserts. Children are well catered for too with their own menu.

worst 'meal' ive ever had
I visited this awful place with a friend to purchase the 2 for 1 meal offer we had on an app.On arrival we both were unsure if the premises was open for business as it was totally empty , not one staff member or customer in sight. As we turned back towards the door to vacate 3 men ran down the stairs towards us, ushering us over to a table right beside the door. We hesitantly sat down , as the men stood over us eyes burning into ours. After being seated 0.5 seconds, jackets not even removed and chairs not even pushed in yet we were asked to order. when we stated we needed a few minutes the man still stood over us staring and watching until we ordered a soft drink. To myself and my friends dissapointment the drinks were abseloutely vile, they were both totally flat , not a single bubble in the glass. The drinks tasted so sour and unpleasant we both could not drink any more than 5mls each. We then both ordered a boonah curry each with rice. After ordering within less than 5 minutes we heard a microwave 'ping' in the back ground various times. Both curries arrived within seconds, as we both stared at each other from accross the small table. To my utter dismay, disbelief and genuine shock one bowl of rice arrived , which we were told to 'share'. There was just enough rice on my plate after i flattened and spread it out after sharing the bowl with my friend. The curries then arrived. The sauce was a very unhealthy unappetising green/ bright yellow colour, very watery with 4 very small pieces of chicken in the small plate. It looked abseloutely disgusting and was such a small tiny portion it was very insulting to receive. The quality was so disgraceful and it certainly was not a boonah, the sauce was not red or anywhere near it. Both curries looked like messy badly presented cheap and nasty ready meals . The taste was something else entirely. There was no taste. Totally tasteless. Tasted of nothing whatsoever. I could not even chew through the chicken it was so so tough and im almost certain it tasted reheated from the previous night. Me and my friend stared at each other from across the small table and could not even speak never mind eat this monstrosity. In a moment of despair i raised my napkin to my face to block out my rather unpleasant expearience and the employee to my left who stood beside us since being seated and throughout, staring and listening like a preying mantis, never leaving our sides. The napkin was filthy, smeared in an unknown sauce from a previous customer. We could not eat the meals they were honestly so revolting. I felt intimidated as we were constantly being stared at and watched by 2 employees standing on the stairs and the employee who stood right beside us at our table for the entire experience. There was no way we could refuse to accept this food or pay for it as they were circling us like crows. We left the food basicaly untoched along with the drinks and asked for the bill. The bill came to £41 for 2 soft drinks and 2 currys, the prices on the menu did not match the hand written messy receipt we received. By this point i was really really scunnered and had had enough. When i questioned the employee about the very expensive bill for a 2 for 1 deal he arrogantly and confidently told me that that was the 2 for 1 deal !! All 3 men were staring at this point, feeling further intimidated we both just paid and left abseloutely starving and quite upset. I would never return here , even for a free meal. The place is disgusting, no standards and quality of food and presentation is very poor and embassaring. Myself and my friend were certainly conned and ripped off. Advertising as 2 for 1 deal but ita definitly now, their advertising is false. Please do not waste your money here as you will be very disappointed and hungry upon leaving this place.

Sorry, you cannot spend SquareMeal vouchers here yet.
