About

Looking across the River Thames and located along Butlers Wharf, you can take in the views of the whole city while enjoying some authentic Italian cuisine all in a trendy and modern restaurant. With a huge alfresco dining area located at the front of the restaurant, when the weather is nice, you can sit outside and enjoy your food.

When it comes to what’s on offer, the menu will not disappoint even the most hard-core of Italian fans. Expect to find all the classics on the starter menu such as garlic bread, calamari and bruschetta. When it comes to mains, why not stray from the authentic dishes and order something with a twist. For example, the asparagus and pancetta carbonara is a nice and healthy take on the original dish.

Luckily vegan and vegetarians are catered for so you don’t have to miss out on your favourite dishes. Try the vegan prima pizzas with a thinner, longer base and lots of vegan cheese. Or go for the spaghetti lentil ragu for those who still crave spag bol sometimes. They even have a gluten-free menu.

When you’re done with the savoury portion of your Italian feast, move swiftly onto the dessert menu and order some sweet treats. Go for the warm cookie with salted caramel gelato, or honeycomb cheesecake if you feel extra indulgent. Fresh and fruity more your style? The passionfruit and raspberry cheesecake or pear tart will do the job. If you plan on keeping things authentic, it makes sense to go for the Tiramisu or yoghurt Panna Cotta – they are the most Italian of desserts after all.

To accompany all this food, you can’t forget to order an Italian wine or cocktail. Opt for a traditional Negroni or try the Limoncello Spritz. If you want to add a bit of sparkle to your meal the Italian Twinkle is a good option too.

No italian amore
sea bass al forno £14.55 – the piece of fish was quite thin, served hot but I felt it was a smallish plate for a main. spaghetti al pomodoro £8.25 calzone con carne picante £11.95 – cheesy with various meats, disappointingly under spiced, and not quite big enough, but somehow I still found myself enjoying it in some sinful way. lemon tart – again too small, not tangy enough, but thankfully not over-sweetened profiteroles al cioccolato – the choux pastry tasted very dry and tasted like a mass produced frozen product but, on the bright side it has a nice chocolate sauce. Service for the night was especially slow despite the restaurant being half empty. The staffs looked overworked, tired and were ready to get off their shifts on that Saturday night. The Italian laid back approach might have been adopted but the Italian amore? Not found in ASK.
