The improved no-airs pub will suit locals tired of Pimlico’s increasingly chichi gaffs. Prices are refreshingly honest with a picpoul worth puckering up to for £17 and a fair range of wines from £4 a glass. At under £6 for a Tanqueray Tom Collins, Absolut Cosmopolitan, Moscow Mule or Espresso Martini, the cocktails are a bargain, and Adnams Broadside and Greene King IPA are the pick the industrial brews on tap. More rewarding are bottled craft brews and ciders. Burgers, pie of the day and bangers and mash are all filling fare. Alternatively, pick at charcuterie platters, box-baked camembert, Caesar or wheatberry, beetroot and couscous salad, tuna niçoise, calamari or wraps and sourdough sarnies.
