We were seated at the back of the restaurant in a booth-like table, and were unfortunate to be served by a shrew of a waitress who was better suited to McDonalds than a Chelsea venue. She was unaccommodating, bordering on rude with her responses and forgot to bring utensils and accompaniments that we had asked for (although we were made privy to interesting facial expressions when we dared to ask her to bring these things). I am pregnant, and requested that my risotto not contain parmesan since that is known to be detrimental to a pregnant woman's health. She rudely informed me that the risotto was already made up and would only be heated, so I would have to have it as is (for £11 I had expected something fresher than yesterday's offering! I also expect that for the prices they charge, thart they would be able to accommodate dietary requirements, since every other restaurant in the area seems to have no trouble doing that.) Both my husband and our friend commented on her attitude when I politely asked her for milk as an accompaniment to my tea (which she still forgot to bring), and the look she gave me when I asked for milk again. She showed no knowledge of the menu, no respect for customers and I suspect that is because the restaurant adds insult to injury by adding the 12% service charge to the bill. We paid it so that we could exit the establishment and put the experience behind us, but all felt that we were the ones that should have been paid to suffer that kind of service.
