Soif (27 Battersea Rise, London, London, SW11 1HG)

Whilst this is definitely the best thing in the area it is not as good as the original Terroirs.

I really though the kitchen let the place down, my Pork Belly and beans was really average and was only made better by the wine.

The beans were undercooked and the belly skin not crispy enough. The sauce had not thickened and it was as if they could not be bothered. We went at about 7 before it started to fill up. All a little pricey for the quality

Whilst I am a girl that likes her meat the menu is not balanced in any way. Too heavy and meaty. The wines are very good as you would expect. I am a little bit over whole ‘natural’ wine thing but hey that is a la mode.

The decor is you know french wine bar retro reclaim chic. a little bit predictable.

Will probably go back again as everything else in around is bad, but next time probably just for a drink and some saucisson.

Aurelia (13-14 Cork Street, London, W1S 3NS)

Not my favourite restaurant of the zuma, la petite maison, roka group.

Food good, went on the first few nights and it probably needs time to get perfect.

Service when I went was a bit of a let down. Wrong orders, late delivery, poor understanding of menu.

I will give it a second go however.

Kopapa (32-34 Monmouth Street, London, London, WC2H 9HA)

I have been eating with Peter Gordon for as long as I can remember.

The Sugar Club when it was out west and also when it was where Nopi is now. Providores for brunch. Now Kopapa.

Compared to Providores – a little bigger – a few new things on the menu -handy for being that end of the world.

Service was a tad lacklustre and everything was just OK. Am sure that it will get a lot better. He always does.

Tom Ilic (123 Queenstown Road, London, SW8 3RH)

Overall just average.

Have been meaning to go since I moved around the corner – have heard many thing about the chef.

Overall it was fine – nothing mindblowing. Quite stodgy but flavoursome.

A bit overpriced for battersea.

Mishkin's (25 Catherine Street, London, London, WC2B 5JS)

London needed all of the Norman/Beatty incarnations to liven things up.

Mishkins is in the same bracket as all of them for me.

Pretty and studied cool. Food is just fine and prices are ok.

Good middle class chain restaurants with a nice edge.

Will go back again and again because decent alternatives are few and far between.

Restaurant Critic

Nopi (21-22 Warwick Street, London, London, W1B 5NE)

I don't understand how they could have got it so wrong. Whilst I do love the original Ottolenghi(s), the foray into proper dining is overpriced, overhyped and underwhelming.

My main issue is price – SO SO expensive for average innovation and tastes. Yes it is very fresh and good quality, but seriously it is not fine dining.

The space is pretty enough and thank god someone has done a pretty loo again. Nice wine list.

Don't bother though.
