Vicino (189 New King's Road, London, London, SW6 4SW) Yum. I went late-ish on a Monday evening and there were enough other diners to avoid that empty feeling. I like the decor – it's simple but the photos are eye-catching. The olives and paste thingy (aubergine?) were ideal to nibble while browsing the extensive menu, and were willingly refilled for us as we waited for companions to arrive. My De Cecco salad starter was a perfect salad for me, each ingredient fresh and well matched. In the liver with bacon, the slices of liver were deliciously fine. My companions were happy with their swordfish. I had no room for pudding, but I look forward to returning soon and trying one. The service was attentive but not overbearing, and, although we were the last to leave, was warm and friendly to the end. Lovely.
