Check out our this list of alfresco event space in London: squaremeal.co.uk/venues/london/All London Venues With Outside Event Space/selection/208
As it's such short notice, you're probably best off calling venues in the City as they tend to be quiet at the weekend. Good luck! More

Hi Lolly,
Are you an event organiser? You'll often find details of showcase events and launch parties for event venues in our email newsletter, which you can sign up for here: squaremeal.co.uk/register Restaurant launches are generally reserved for press.
For event-industry networking events, check out: isesuk.org or follow the #eventprofsuk hashtag on twitter.
Here at V&E, we regularly put on reader events for event organisers. The best way to find out about these is to ‘like’ us on facebook: facebook.com/squaremealvande
Hope that's helpful.

Naughty Simon – you shouldn't be plugging your own parties on here (see the rules-of-conduct) but, we agree, the HC (Christmas at the Hc) would be a good venue for that group.
Jojo, have a look at our Christmas Party pages for more inspiration – you'll find venues arranged by all sorts of categories in the left-hand column. The ‘advanced search’ is also a useful tool. squaremeal.co.uk/christmas More

Reply to “wedding planner conference – is there one?” (in Venues & Events talk )

How strange – the invitations have gone out so you should have received it. But don't worry, there are still a few spaces left. The event will be taking place at Lord's on 15 March and you need to email Victoria@triggerfish.co.uk to book your space. Reply to “Royal Wedding Street Party?!” (in Venues & Events talk )

We like your spirit! Here's a great website that tells you all about organising street parties: streetparty.org.uk/royal-wedding-street-parties.aspx
As it says, though, it may be a bit chilly for a street party in April. Highest average temperature for the 29th is apparently 16 degrees Celsius – not exactly balmy… More

Reply to “Help me in finding a farewell venue!” (in Venues & Events talk )

Hi Sarah,
There are countless venues that size in central London. You can search by tube station here: squaremeal.co.uk/venues/london
What kind of farewell party is it? Is your colleague moving abroad or just changing jobs? If you gave more detail on the event (ie where they're moving and if that could help inspire the theme) you'd be able to get more creative answers on here.
Hope that helps,

Hi Martine,

Funny you should mention it! Square Meal Venues & Events hosts a Wedding Planners' Conference every year and we're in the last throes of finalising details for this year's right now.

What we can tell you at the moment is that it will take place some time in March and is very likely to be held in the stately surrounds of Lord's Cricket Ground in St John's Wood.

Watch this space for more information, we'll be sure to drop you an official invitation when we know all the details.

Thanks,

The V&E Team More

Hi Linda,
We've tweeted your request for shared party nights in Jan a couple of times without luck.
But we do have a different suggestion for you. How about dinner & bowling in one of the All Star Lane venues? They have cocktail bars and restaurants so you can have nice food and drink and the lanes themselves usually have a party atmosphere – busy most nights and great background music.
Here are details of the three branches: All Star Lanes
Enjoy! More

Reply to “Boutique/trendy venue for presentation 70 pax” (in Venues & Events talk )

Hi Eve,

Thanks for your query.

There are plenty of West-End nightclubs that have great AV kit that’s perfect for presentations. And, of course, they’ll be able to put on some of the best cocktail receptions in town!

We’d suggest:

24 Club
Sound London Vanilla

Or, for more a more presentation-specific venue, you can’t go far wrong with the likes of:

Altitude 360-London
15 Hatfields
Cpc-City Presentation Centre

Hope that helps! You can always call our free helpline team on 020 7840 6299 for more advice

Nomad Food & Design introduced an interesting new concept at an event hosted by Triggerfish PR last night: the DIY molecular gastronomy. Thread “G & Tea at the Langham” (in Venues & Events talk )

The refurbished Palm Court at The Langham The Langham London is looking great and we love the new ‘G & Tea’ package they're running in association with Beefeater 24. Basically, it's a traditional afternoon tea with added gin & tonics: genius. And as the hotel's ‘tea sommelier’ (yes, they've got not one but two!) tells us: the tea itself has been flavoured with gin botanicals, while one of the secret ingredients in Beefeater's new super-premium gin is – you've guessed it: tea. Thread “The little things” (in Venues & Events talk )

The difference in hospitality is often in the detail and we've been noticing lots of thoughtful little ‘extras’ at venues & events – bottles of water for the tube journey home (Royal Courts of Justice), branded cards with recipes for the cocktails we'd been drinking (The Connaught), yoga mats and dvds in the rooms (Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill).

Have you come across any similarly careful touches at venues around town? We'd love to hear about them. More
