Bar close to the entrance, restaurant in the lower area, in two rooms plastered with pictures of stars. Fairly standard music playing but not at high volume. Not a whisper of My Way or Strangers in the Night when I visited. Special starter of the day of chicken livers in ciabatta was excellent – perfectly cooked chicken livers with a crunch provided by the bread. Fish and chips with mushy peas found the peas the best part. Chips were slices of jacket potato that seemed to have been fried and then steamed with the fish as greasy as that served by an indifferent suburban chippie. I wouldn't come back for the pinot grigio! Pleasant if slow service: they weren't packed on the Monday night I visited, so I wonder how they cope if they get packed at the weekend.
