Hasn’t rated any restaurants this year.

The Anthologist (58 Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7BB)

I have been to the Anthologist a few times now and every time I am always impressed by the place. Not only is it a great bar but the food is always very creditable (and not overpriced). Somtimes it can be a little noisy if going for a quiet lunch (but the tables at the bottom of the restaurant make a big difference).

Rum & Sugar (Museum of London Docklands, 1 West India Quay, London, E14 4AL)

I must admit i was left feeling two sided about this restaurant…

The write up on the squaremeal (and as it is a searcys) i had in mind a smart restaurant. However, on entering you are greeted to an almsot lobby style restaurant with incredibly bright lighting. No tables places are set and to make it worse, at 1pm in the afternoon, there were 3 groups of mother / toddler lunches. As you can imagine it wasnt the atmosphere that you would expect!! With childern running around the table, on a week day, it certainly wasnt a great place for a business lunch.

On the flip side, the food and service was really creditable and far better than i expected after hardly being able to hear a thing above the childrens screams for the first 20 minutes
