Anglesea Arms (35 Wingate Road, London, W6 0UR) now im no real foodie but i can say i have eaten out in some very good gastro pubs and decent eateries during my 42 years of existence i watch every cooking programme available and can certainly turn my hand and hold my own when it comes to the kitchen but i pull no punches in saying that this was by far and i mean a million miles by far the worst food i have ever had put before me. The warm duck salad with poached egg on some sort of concrete slab that they called bread was totaly tasteless and looked completly undesirable in colour and presentation, the duck tasted only of liver. I then had welsh rarebit and believe me it was like a turd on toast in looks aroma and taste. Service was friendly enough but staff are tottaly uninterested and the decor i think is supposed to be the cliched shabby cheik but in some places its just down right shabby .The premises must now be relying soley on the prozak and chardonnay filled local housewives and semi retired dim witted property developers they call husbands of wingate road and surrounding areas that frequent this establishment for there business. I see no future for this venue under current managment its appalling and a dam shame.
