Dim T West End (32 Charlotte Street, London, London, W1T 2NQ)

Food:
Dim T has a great selection of main courses to choose from. The noodle bar offers you the flexibility to construct your own dish, you can choose from you favourite type of noodles, toppings and sauce which is a nice, personal touch (especially for fussy eaters like me). There is also a great selection of healthy dishes and teas for you to have if you are on a restricted diet, which is a lovely change considering that some of the sauces and toppings in the other main dishes can be quite heavy. They also have the traditional dishes such as Crispy Duck with pancakes or Thai green curry, which are good, not great btw. They have wonderful noodlesoup dishes they do taste great, but they are massive (almost American style massive). The Dim Sum, which I was under the impression was there forte considering they are called Dim T was disappointing and there wasn't enough of it. It was, frankly, over-cooked. This is another restaurant where the starters overshadow the main course. The starters are gorgeous, especially the Gyoza, it is beautiful and not greasy or dry just perfect. The Spicy Squid is delicious too and has a sauce that compliments it really well.

Service
Dim T in Charlotte Street is the best in regards to service, the staff are very friendly and even during times where the food takes longer than expected they are always trying hard to keep you happy.

Atmosphere
The deco inside is good considering they have such a small space, however the music was so-so, they didn't have enough tasteful music playing in the background. It would have been nice to hear, for instance, music of that culture. It's beautiful and compliments the food and enhances the surroundings

Value for Money
Certainly – the only thing I think is a bit of a rip-off is the Dim Sum as you don't get enough for what you pay.

On the whole it is definately worth going to.

Gilgamesh (Stables Market, Chalk Farm Road,Camden, London, London, NW1 8AH)

Gilgamesh is a real feast for the eyes as well as the stomach. From the grotty, but charming surroundings of Camden Market; you ascend the stairs enter, what I can only describe as, an intricate hand-carved heaven. The interior is beautifully decorated, inspiration comes from the friezes held at The British Museum which instantly makes you feel like you are in a luxury restaurant. Another thing that completes this idea is the service. They are very attentive and very polite. The Bar tenders are very inventive making tasty cocktails that compliment the theme of the restaurant. The food, however, is a over priced and quite rich. I enjoyed the food, don't get me wrong it was delicious and imaginative, but I did leave feeling very stuffed although the portions weren't too big. I had the set menu which had a great selection of food, the best part of the dinner that stood out the most was the Prawn and crab spring rolls with nouc cham dressing and the pudding which was Milk Chocolate Fondant. Gorgeous! Being a sushi junkie I tried the sushi there which was very good, but I have had better elsewhere and had it cheaper.

For me the big reason to go to Gilgamesh is to be in the presence of the awe-inspiring interior and the great service. The food is great however the main course was overshadowed by the starters, pudding and scrumptious cocktails – Apple & Fig Martini is my favourite. In fact the food they serve at the bar is better than the restaurant, they served Crispy Squid, Duck Spring Roll and Scallop Sui Mai are my favourite but again you can get that elsewhere cheaper and just as good.
