Scalini (1-3 Walton Street, London, SW3 2JD) I like this place, although at peak times you almost have to shout to be heard, so better to go in a group then a couple!! i love the food here, proper italian cooking, lobster spagetti is yummy as is the veal escalope, portions are really good, i have never left here hungry, and is reasonable priced for knightbridge!! a good all rounder

Morston Hall (Main Coast Road, Morston, Near Blakeney, Norfolk, NR25 7AA) I have been to morsten hall on a few occassions now, it was never consistent, but i can safely say my most recent visit, it was truly awful. These guys have got greedy. What was once an intimate dinning room has now extended in to the conservatory and reminded me a a cafeteria, sloppy service, with plates sitting for up to 15 mins in front of you was poor, when my wife complained the waitress awnswer was “thats how we do it” sitting in the lounge on arrival we were offered a crappy cananpe , used to be 3, obviously profit margin is more important now. As for the food is was pretty awful, bland and underseasoned. The desrt was a kind on blamange , which heston said he had copied from the waterside inn in bray…please..if u cant come up with your own deserts dont bother, we left it , it was awful and i think would be a huge insult to mr roux's establishment! unfortunately like most restuarants mr galton has become greedy, more is less is my mind, i will never go here agagin, i said to my wife at the end of the meal, “ we should have gone for a curry”!!! for £55 a head it was totaly overpriced portions were tiny, i was starving after!!

Lords Of The Manor (Upper Slaughter, Bourton-on-the-Water, Gloucestershire, GL54 2JD) My wife and i recently stayed here, we were very dissapointed, we booked a room which was described as looking on to the villiage but all you could see is the main road! THe food i have to say was very good, but the atmosphere in the restuarant was aquard, very quite, but the service for a michelin establishment was poor, when we finshed a course plates would just sit on our table for up to 15 mins, waiters would just walk past and not do anything, …not that we mind we had to por our own wine most of the time. I felt this place was like a conveyor belt, get them in get their money and get out, there was no interacion from the staff what so ever. the other annoying thing when we got to our room we were asked which paper we would like in the morning, we like the times, when i got the bill they had the nerve to charge it o my bill each time, pretty pathetic really. breakfast was a similar story, no rolls or crossiants, they were under “gaurd” if u wanted one u had to ask, and they were pretty tight with those, croissants defo did not taste fresh, as the fresh orange juice was “bought in” as we overheard! maybe they should take more care of there guests and less care on there profit margin!!!

Chicago Rib Shack (145 Knightsbridge, London, SW1X 7PA) went out with a group of friends, thought we would try this before we went to cienma, blimey what a load of rubbish, should have gone mcdonalds!! ribs for which im told they are famous for were truly terrible, really tough and tasteless, i can honestly say the worst ribs i have ever had anywhere, steaks where tough and not good either, but i suppose it was our own faults, this place is perfect for clueless tourists who are used to this crap! service was bad to we had to wait at least 10-15 minutes before our drinks order was taken. Thankgod they do doggy bags, they were full to the brim!! at least my four legged friend enjoyed her meal!! but thats just greed!!

Went 3 months ago and was very dissapointed, whilst the food was good, it was no better than 1 and 2 michelin star restuarants i have been to and was super expensive 450 for 2 plp. Atmosphere is not nice, that hush hush wisper to each other which i hate. i have said it once and i will say it again, Michelin needs to bring in rules that states if your name is above the door you should be in the kitchen, it should be renamed Clare smith, its her food your eating not Ramsey, gets on my bloody nerves!! Its like driving a ferrari with a skoda badge! we asked if Ramsey was there, they said he had just left, strange he can be here and the U.S at the same time!! i am clearly in a minority. save your money and stay at the devonshire arms in skipton which will cost u the same money for 2 days with superb food and hospitality.!

Racine (239 Brompton Road, London, SW3 2EP) this is my kind of restuararnt, great food charming staff and a cosy atmosphere. This is traditional french cooking at its best, just shows you dont need 3 michelin starrs to deliver faltless ymmy food. fish soup is great when on menu, rich and full of flavour, grilled veal chop is superb as was cote de boeuf, great. wines are very good value to £25 gets you a full bodied red. deserts are yummy. one of my most favourite restuarants in london. defo reccomended.

The Ivy (1-5 West Street, London, WC2H 9NQ) you hear stories that it takes weeks even months to get in to this place…why!! we arrived on time 8pm and where told to wait at some crappy bar in the corner by reception for 15 mins we were shown in, retuararnt is nothing special at all, reminded me of a grotty east london pub. Food is nothing special, is posh pub food nothing more and very expensive, service was rushed and sloppy, like they doing me a favour, we left after an hour or so, i will never go back. These stupid celebrities up the anty, my wife saw Dale Winton, that was the donwer of the evening!! A truly awful experience.

Bengal Clipper (11-12 The Cardamom Building, London, SE1 2YR) been coming here for 6 years now as always made to feel welcome, staff are friendly. Food is yummy , clipper treat as starter is great , lovley tender meat and fish, curry's are rich and full of flavour, value is great in my mind for 2 plp with wine and service about £80, unlike Benares in mayfair which is double the price.

La Petite Maison (54 Brooks Mews, London, W1K 4EG) Boy!! this place is pricey £400 for 3 of us with 2 bottles of £40 wine, they charging michelin star prices for avearge food, we shared all the dishes but nothing was wow, had steak ,lamb chops and fish for mains, it was ok but nothing special, if it was half the price which would be the correct price then i would have said it was quite good, i dont think i will be going back, u better off saving your money and going to a proper michelin retuarant.

Pham Sushi (159 Whitecross Street, London, EC1Y 8JL) was introduced by a client as we could not get in to “nobu” one night, boy what a gem, this blows nobu out the water, this place is tiny, so getting table is tough, we sat at sushi counter, staff are friendly and attentive although atmosphere is a little quite for my liking but the food makes up for this. crunchy tuna rolls are to die for and are better than any roll zuma or nobu can come up with in my view. sashimi is fresh and tender. Hot food is good to, but is the sushi that wins the show, dinner for 2 with wine and service was £80 abd we were stuffed! great.

as you enter the restuarant and shown to your table by charming restuarnt manger eric! puts you in relaxed mode. have been going here for 4 years now and food has always been excellent, great flavours and nice portions, i feel it could put some 2 michelin restuarnts to shame in london! wine manger Nigel really knows his stuff and always tries to deliver value for money with some great reds in £40-50 mark. what i like about this restuarant is that you are allowed children, any age which i think is great, unlike most restuarants which have silly age limit. Staff are great with the kids and my daughter reguarly gets visits to the kitchen!! great. so if u have kids but still want to have great food come here, hotel is fantastic as well, doggies allowed everywhere aprt from restuararnt which is fair enough! a real treat!

if you think this is a glizy razzle do da restuarant then you will be very dissapointed!! but the food in my view was great, the best duck pankakes i have had ever, not schreaded to oblivion put lovley tender chunks, yummy, noodles where great as was lobster and prawn dishes, soo fresh, sometime the simplest things can taste great. But be prepared to pay for it as it very expensive..a little to expensive, but worth a treat now and again.

Benares (12a Berkeley Square House, Berkeley Square, London, W1J 6BS) save your money and go to your local tandori!! its ok but not worth the money, i had deep fried soft shell crab to start which had been overcooked, and just dumped on some salade. so instead of being a nice brown crispy colour was near black, tasted horrible and the chicken curry i had was no better than my local, i dont know what all the fuss is about …£150 for a curry, no thanks, i'll stick to my local for £30!! service was good, restuarant is nothing special, has no wow factor and for that money it should!

This is where i discovered Japanese food by my wife, by god it was yummy, but over the years i feel it has got sloppy. Eating there is like being on a conveyor belt, my wife and i ordered a selection of sushi and cooked food and within 30 minutes we where done!! obviuosly they needed the table back. the fact that you can get a table the same day you call tells you other people dont think its that great, call zuma on the same day and they will probably say call back in 3 weeks!! a tad dissaponting.
