Read the thread July 2010Has anyone got any great alternatives to the trad Christmas turkey that would be suitable for large groups? More
Read the thread July 2010That's great, thanks so much…
So does it work out better to buy rather than rent? Is there a lot of demand for tipis for weddings/parties etc at the moment? As far as I can see they seem to be springing up everywhere… More
Read the thread July 2010Does anyone know a reliable company that hires out luxury tipis/yurts/belle tents for weekends? Any ideas about costing etc? More
Read the thread June 2010Is there an eco-friendly alternative to those horrible (but very useful) outdoor heaters? I daren't rely on the weather to be good enough for people to linger outside, but nor do I want to use those things as I've heard they gobble energy… More
Read the thread June 2010How about spicy chicken wings/thighs marinated in Harissa, bit of cumin, herbs? Easy picking food… With some big salads – tabbouleh, roasted pepper and tomato salad. More
Read the thread June 2010I'm looking for a PDR for 25 people for a hen party, possibly with some entertainment before/after/during. I'm not a fan of burlesque classes, usual hen thing – just want something to make it feel a bit different/special… Any ideas? More
Read the thread April 2010Lots of people say V is good for corporate entertaining, but I think it's a bit of a lame festival – no atmos at all. I was taken to the Big Chill by vodka company Zubrowka last year and had a great time. It's too far from London for a day though. How about a London festival like Lovebox or Field Day, both in Victoria Park? Music's better than V and smaller and more manageable too. More
Read the thread April 2010I'm looking for a really fun, novel teambuilding experience – something that will be a real talking point, where people might be able to learn something – even if it's something like how to put together a newspaper, or make a scent. Has anyone out there tried anything that's really blown them away? Personal recommendations would be really useful… More
Read the thread April 2010Thanks so much! Really helpful responses… x More
Read the thread April 2010I'm trying to find really interesting and unsual glassware/tea sets etc. I'm throwing a vintage-themed/prohibtion-style cocktail tea party so want to find pretty mis-matched tea sets which I can serve cocktails in. Don't have time to scour jumble sales etc and buy. Is there a company which hires out this sort of thing? Or a place where I can buy a job lot? They use this sort of thing at Bourne & Hollingsworth and it looks great… More
Read the thread March 2010I'm organising a themed party and want to get a fancy dress company to provide a dressing up box for guests so they can get into the swing of things. Does anyone know of a company which does this? I've seen brilliant stalls at festivals and venues (there was a great one at Punk once) and was hoping someone might be able to recommend a company… More
Read the thread March 2010I have just heard that if you order a mojito, barmen think you're a pleb. Guess it's gone the way of the Cosmopolitan post SATC frenzy. So, I got to thinking, what is this year's hottest cocktail? Any ideas or suggestions gratefully received… More
Read the thread January 2010I went to an sportswear launch event at Sketch in the summer – food and cocktails were great and we were given a jacket and hat, as well as water and jelly sweets (not very healthy, but most appreciated) to take home. Wear the jacket for cycling and running all the time – was very pleased with that one… More
