Really dissappointing experience… an tepid welcome coupled with a 15 minute wait for drinks order ( which was only then forthcoming because we prompted ) didn't exactly endear us to the sunday brunch experience so very well PR'd. A litany of underdelivery: the coffee was served without offer of sugar, we were never once asked if we needed more drinks, the pudding menu took 10 minutes to arrive even tho it was within arms reach of us ( we didn't go on to order…funniily enough!) and the bill took 3 reminders.
Each request was greeted with ambivalence bordering on disdain.
The staff were too interested in socialising to actually do the job they were being paid for.
The food would have had to have been pretty spectacular to make up for this shabby service – and it wasn't. Nice, but not so nice as to rationalise enduring the preening and pretention that surrounded us.
I've never been SO bothered as to write a negative restaurant review before – a testament to just how underwhelming we found this ‘style over substance’ gaff.
