The Anchor Inn (Lower Froyle, Alton, Hampshire, GU34 4NA) A very well laid out and thoughtful gastropub on the edge of Alton, Hampshire. The food and service have built up quite a following in the area and rightly so. There is an excellent choice of food and alot of it is sourced locally which is the trend these days. What's also nice is that the beer too is local from Triple F to Andwell there's a good selection on tap. The food is fresh and the service is very friendly. If the weather is nice the beer garden is quiet and large with a ‘wild’ meadow area off to one side. If it's a bit cold you can take blankets outside and sit and watch the world go by (slowly). It's a real find and I can thoroughly recommend the fish and chips on a Friday.
