Barbecoa (20 New Change Passage, London, London, EC4M 9AG)

A typical Jamie atmosphere as expected. But based on the reviews I read, an unexpectedly great dinner! Just to clarify, yes it is a steak restaurant and yes, they are great at what they are doing. I had a simple fillet and it was one of the best steaks I ever ate. Even more stunning was the creamed spinach I had as a side. My mum had chicken which was quite unfortunately average. We were sitted next to a couple which had a quite unfortunate situation as one of them had to return his steak 3 times… Well what can I say… Their review would be probably very different to mine.
The service was great but perhaps quite slow. Everyone friendly exactly to telhe right extent. Overall, a great dinner and a fun night. I would recommend it to everyone!

Maze (10-13 Grosvenor Square, London, London, W1K 6JP)

Overrated. That was all I could say, leaving Gordon Ramsay's Maze. Being honest I left terribly unsatisfied. I have visited the restaurant for my birthday. We first, spent 30 minutes at the bar (I must admit that the interior does not look bad at all) before being seated. The wine list is overpriced, and be prepared for quite a shock if visiting the restaurant is in your plans.
We had the tasting menu with matching wines for the meal. The apetizers were indeed, bland and left quite a space for improvment. On the other hand, the wines were what was shining through the experience. They did go well with the dishes as well as on their own. There is a good selection of them with some, shining through as you can find some very bright, unexpected flavours in them.
The entrees were not much of an improvment, however, some of the garnish was truly perfect. A beautiful, colourful bouqet of flavours awaits you in some parts of every dish. However, you do need to be prepared to taste a vast desert of emptiness in a pieces of almost every dish.
As for dessert, it was suprisingly short of perfect. Great combinations of sweetness and some unexpected flavours do speak for themselves on the plate.
I must say that the complimentary house-made chocolates accompanying your tea/coffee have a texture so bizarre I still cannot decide what to think of them. The crispy chocolate cover, jelly inside with a dark chocolate centre is very suprising coming from a simple truffle-like looking chocolate The taste was still very dissapointingly bland, though.
Overall, the experience is not too bad at all. The food is good, although dissapointing if you take into consideration the name it bears. The value for money is dissapointing, I cannot disagree.

Tinello (87 Pimlico Road, London, London, SW1W 8PH)

I stumbled upon Tinello as I was searching for a dinner with my father. It is good place for a good dinner but… I must say that it had some good points as well as worse ones. On the positive would definitely be the interior, which very well shows the classic italian cuisine with a modern twist. The service, however, left some room for improvement as we were left waiting for way over 20 minutes before a waiter turned up to get our first order. I suppose that this happens quite often as they do provide you witha big bread basket with good, pickled vegetables and olive oil. As for the food, it must be said that you cannot ask for more. It is classic with a modern twist. I had the apetizer platter which was rich and full of flavour for the entree i had the hare ragu pasta which i must say had some room for improvent as the taste was quite bland. For dessert, I had the ice cream which were simply flawless. I cannot say so about the dessert my father had. It was a spin off from a lemon meringue which I was expecting to be a crisp, light flavour. I was prooven quite the opposite as it was suprisingly heavy and rich. As for the value for money, it is within reason, however, dangerously close to being too much. Overall, a pleasant expierience if classic Italian with a modern twist floats your boat but perhaps not the best choice in the whole city.
