Pasha (1 Gloucester Road, London, SW7 4PP)

A meal at Pasha is more than just a dinner, it's an experience in itself!

The decor sets a scene reminiscent of a Moroccan opium den and once you walk in you know you are in for a good evening. The well informed staff are on hand to recommend dishes and answer any questions someone who hasn't experienced Moroccan cuisine before may have.

We had about 6 mezze to start, from Armenian sausage to prawn parcels and each of them were delicious. At £5 or £6 per mezze, the food here is not cheap, but I challenge you to leave unsatisfied.

An array of mains are at your disposal and range from tagines to kebab-like skewered meat. Desserts are very rich and unlike many expensive Kensington restaurants, very large. The cocktails are funky and drinkable, albeit expensive at about £11 a time.

Three courses plus cocktails and dessert will set you back £100, but this could increase dramatically depending on how many tenners you slip into the belly dancers' skirts…

Awana (85 Sloane Avenue, London, SW3 3DX)

Awana is the best place in London for Malaysian cuisine. Expensive yes, but you do not leave feeling unsatisfied or ripped off.

The wonton and chicken wings for starters were beautifully prepared and tasted delicious. The mini-ribs were also melt in the mouth gorgeous.

A large selection of main courses made it hard to choose what to have, but the stir fried beef (Daging goreng halia) was lovely and the corn-fed chicken (Sambal ayam) likewise. Desserts are well presented and just big enough to finish you off for the evening! A special mention should go to the great cocktail list with the classics executed well and some more exotic drinks giving the daring something to try.

Service is attentive but not over the top and the decor, including the live video feed of the chef preparing the food, all help in setting the ambience. They have another restaurant in Beijing so maybe I'll have to see if it lives up to Sloane Street's high standards!

Ristorante Semplice (9-10 Blenheim Street, London, W1S 1LJ)

The food is delicious and the chef clearly uses the finest ingredients. We had the beef ravioli and bucatini with rabbit ragout to start and both were rich in flavour. Mains were expensive, with an average price of £25. The rabbit with red wine sauce whilst tasty, was akin to a Tiny Tim portion. Veal with cep mushroom sauce was a much larger portion than the rabbit and was divine. Vegetables were available as an addtional option.

Desserts are overpriced and miniscule, although well executed. For £130 for two courses and a shared dessert plus the cheapest bottle of wine on the list with a bottle of still water, this is a good restaurant but not one to visit when either ravenous or on a budget. As an aside, the wait between courses (30 mins for starter, 45 mins for main and 25 mins for one dessert!) is unacceptable for a Michelin starred restaurant in the heart of Bond St.

Decor is tasteful, but nothing you wouldn't expect at any standard Italian restaurant. However, the toilets are classy.
