This was our first visit but wont be our last. The welcome, food and service were all excellent perhaps the rather cramped layout being the only negative. Not cheap but very good!

Its mostly been said but this is a triumph of technology over food and service, precisely the reverse of what I want when in a restaurant. My colleague and I ordered at precisely the same moment but his main course took half an hour longer to arrive than mine which rather destroyed the concept of sharing a meal. The boot faced staff – and who wouldn't be, being the human end of the all too pervasive machine – were not helpful in addressing this or doing anything very much other than serving up the bill. I won't be back.
This is a hidden gem which outshines many more glitzy and pricey Kew and Richmond eateries (in my view its easily the best Thai in the area). Its understated but the food is superb – with its lady chef/owner taking a keen interest in the quality of everything. Eat, enjoy – but please don't spread the word too widely!
We'd heard good reports and we were impressed by the food though the menu is a bit self consciously ‘old French’. The service was more than a bit over eager and the atoshpere – with some quaint old Kew characters on all sides – was definitely not youthful. We'd have been very happy if it was more reasonably priced too – recent repots that prices have ‘crept up’ are not wrong – its over the top for what its offering.
It was once again a special occasion when we visited a few nights ago – and once again we were not disappointed! We had a top of the menu feast and paid accordingly high prices – yet everything was exceptional in terms of both quality and service. This family business eaily outpaces some glitzier local establishments and is right at the top of the tree in terms of quality. We could have economised and still enjoyed it – as it was it was a great night!
We really enjoyed the food and atmosphere – both first rate. A buzzy and welcome additon to the Soho scene. However, finding our pre-booked table was not actually rwady (at 12.30?), having to ask for menus and being made to wait quite a long tiem for our orders to be taken slighlty detracted from the experience. For this sort of money – not unreasonalbe but not cheap either – we expected everything to be tip top and it wasn't quite.
Oh dear – a great site, one we have visited over many years but how standards have slipped! When we went they accepted our order, then decided the main course we had both chosen was ‘off’. Then they delivered our alternative choices but forgot all about the starters we ordered. One of the compliementary sweets we were given was virtually unedible (how can you screw up a creme bruleee?). Oh, and the place was full of unruly kids. Defintitely one to avoid now – such a shame, such a waste.
