La Trompette (5-7 Devonshire Road, London, London, W4 2EU)

This is my second favourite french restaurant in town.
The big protagonist is food!
The waiter was good in guiding me through the wine list and I had a lovely white wine to pair with my fish menu.
I found the decor too neutral and standard. I would like it to be a bit more personalised.
I went back there with a group of 10 people and we were all happy with the experience.
Excellent desserts and top level cheese board!! A dream for cheese lover…a little comment to add on this. Some of the guests were french and were really surprised when they were offered savoury buiscuits to go with the cheese.
They've immediatly called the waiter back asking for some baguette!!

Kimchee (71 High Holborn, London, WC1V 6EA)

A korean colleague recommended me this new restaurant.
I don't have a great knowledge of korean food but I just decided to follow her suggestion on what to order. Everything was delicious and service was excellent.
The decor makes the atmosphere really warm, I like the open plan kitchen…it's nice to look at how busy they are behind the scenes.
Service is perfect…when I left every single member of the staff was saying goodbye and thank you!
I will definitely go back and try something new!

Portobello Ristorante Pizzeria (7 Ladbroke Road, London, W11 3PA)

I'm Italian and I totally agree with you guys!
It's such a shame to keep our BAD habits when we've got a chance to change and to learn from other cultures.
The manager/staff of this restaurant are not clear about the difference between being professional and being friendly(or at least pretend to be).
In this case it's a real shame because food is proper italian food and pizza is great!
Lets put it this way…this is one of the example of the old style Italian migration culture. You go in a different country and pretend you're still home ignoring any chance of improving your precious knowledge. It doesn't work like this anymore Portobello crew! Com'on!!
After all of this social insight…I'm stil going back there because I like the food, the location is convenient…and I know how to survive in the Italian jungle :) !

Les Trois Garcons (1 Club Row, London, London, E1 6JX)

My favourite french restaurant in town.
Perfect for a date…you can have a drink after dinner at Lounge Lover (same owner and atmosphere and just around the corner).
I went there with a group of 20 people and everything worked really well…the staff was really friendly and professional at the same time.
I'm not a french cousine lover…but I nave to admit that this has got a different twist that makes it interesting for people like me too.
I love La Trompette in Chiswick too…but Les Trois Garcons is the only one offering unique quirky atmosphere combined with excellent food.
