St John (26 St John Street, London, EC1M 4AY)

Still one of the best places in Clerkenwell. Lovely airy and bright out in the bar, and serving excellent food and wine for a wide range of tastes. A joy whether just a quick glass of wine, or sitting down for dinner.

The White Swan Pub & Dining Room (108 Fetter Lane, London, EC4A 1ES)

This is a gem of a place to visit. The pub downstairs is great if you only have time for a drink and quick bite, and the restaurant upstairs is amazing if you time to wine and dine at a slower pace. Everything served here is of fantastic quality, and is well worth stopping by if and when in the city.
