Taqueria (139-143 Westbourne Grove, London, W11 2RS)

Attentive service; cheerful explaination of items on menu which are lesser known outside of Mexico; cosy atmosphere; and inexpensive for a light meal that is very different. Great place to meet friends at.

SkyLounge at Mint Hotel (7 Pepys St, London, EC3N 4AF)

Service issues urgently need to be addressed. Extremely slow, chaotic service and inexperienced staff. Otherwise a very good venue in a good location.

The Thomas Cubitt (44 Elizabeth Street, London, SW1W 9PA)

Good prompt service. Motivated, hard working staff. Not cheap but good value – the fish in my fish and chips was fresh, fresh, fresh. As were the chips and mushy peas. They came with a pot of tartare sauce and a cut lemon half wraped in muslin – a nice touch for catching the pips.

Still think the prompt service made the biggest impression on me. Recommended.

Ping Pong Belvedere Road (Festival Terrace, Southbank Centre, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XX)

As a HK Chinese brought up on dim sum I can't say Ping Pong has done a good job of serving steamed items, which are often over-steamed and falling apart. From what I am aware, the chain is not run by Chinese people. Moreover, we don't eat dim sum after 3pm so seeing a restaurant serving it well into the evening is a bit weird.
