To admit upfront I'm not a GR fan at all, rather the contrary as he is the example of a great chef going way over the top and completely loosing focus and as result quality. Having said that he is no longer cooking here anyway (probably for the better) and the food is amazing. Very attentative service (than again it is a tiny setting with few tables). You'll be treated to high-end top haute cuisine. No experimental or innovative touches but extremely well made top food. You pay the bill for that (but that you expect). One let-down is the 2 shift setting for dinner, ie you either have to go early and done by 9:30 or late, not ideal as you will typically enjoy a multi course dinner at a restaurant like this

This is a strange little place, half butcher shop half restaurant but ending up being somewhat neither …The food itself is actually fairly good (alhough the menu being rather limited), the atmosphere pretty lacklustre though also driven by lack of people (place seems fairly empty most of the times). If you want good top-quality steaks you're probably better off heading to the likes of Hawksmoor, Goodman or Gaucho although they are all substantially more pricey and one of the best things you can say about this place is it's fairly good value for money

Even after all this time still a bit sad to see Aubergine gone and replaced by the group behind this place with an Italian offering (this is the group also behind Zafferano). So think about it as a somewhat downscaled less posh version of Zafferano which isn't such a bad thing as it makes this place more suitable for “everyday” type of use rather than for a special night out. The food is of good quality (although a class below the top Italians in town, but to be fair at least the price tag reflects that) and at times feels rather familiar if you have been at Zaferano.
For what might be viewed as a pure tourist attraction/trap this is actually a rather nice outpost, in particular during those times of the year (british weather permitting …) where you can sit outside and enjoy the setting overlooking the serpentine at hyde park. The food and drink offering is what you expect from a place like this but rather on the positive side (including the cooked rather than prepacked food). And there is just nothing better than sit outside and enjoy one of London's best outdoor spaces …
I was always a little bit buzzled by all the hype about this place – was it all about Pippa M been seen here for lunch a couple of times when it opened ? Don't get me wrong, the food is good at this place, it's your usual Libaneese/Middle Eastern mezze offering done to a good and high standard. Service is good also bearing in mind the place tends to be full at dinner rush-hour. But I have to say its not way better than a number of other Lebanese places and propably not as good value for money as you can find somewhere else (just maybe a little less fanzy …)
This is a fairly average Indian food offering in the middle of the city near Liverpool Street and Moorgate. Not a place for a fancy business lunch but rather your alternative for a quick meal slightly more upscale than settling for a sandwich or take-away.
So you're at the airport with your family and the kids go hungry before the flight resp. you have time to fill/kill (and not lucky enough to go to a lounge where you would get food and drinks fo free) – that's the situation where this place fits right in. It's the usual Giraffe offering (so you know what to expect and what you'll get) and definetely the best family/kids food option in the terminal if you require one and a simple sandwhich from the shop next door will not do …
Let's be fair – you don't come to heathrow to eat in one of the airport restaurants but to get on a plane. Having said that, if you have time/need to eat and don't have lounge access (not that the food offering is neccessarily better there but at least free …) this is a good option. Food quality is ok and that's the main thing you should be looking for in a place like that
Let's face it, you don't come to this place to eat (whether lunch or dinner) but because you want a drink and some food either before or after bowling. That's not to say the food is bad – its actually good honest comfort food with burgers, ribs, steaks etc all done to a god standard. Service can be on the slow side. Besides a nice way for an evening out with friends this is also a very good family place and fun for kids. Fairly good value for money as well
A great choice for pre or post theatre dinner (or in between if you like – but the location in the heart of London's Theatreland obviously lends itself to combine this with a musical or theatre visit in any of the many venues nearby)This is a busy and buzzing location, not the place to go for a quit romantic dinner (unless you consider the noise level of a train station cozy …) but that's not what you come for. The food focuses on regional Italian cuisine with a broad variety of different options (not at all limited to your traditional, simple pasta dishes) and almost all dishes are available in smaller or larger sizes making them ideal for sharing in tapas style fashion. Very attentative service (not an easy task given the buzz and typically fully packed restaurant). Interesting wine list with many options by the glass or carraffe

So much is already said about this place so let me sum up my views as follows (1) with all the hype around molecular cuisine just go there an enjoy the faboulous food and overall experience which is outstanding (2) yes there is a lot of theatre around the dishes but it does add to the experience so go for the show (that's what it is) and enjoy (3) my only real critisism (and I admit only because I had the priviligue of having been there 3 times already) is the rather static nature of the menue without much change. If you love food (and can afford the steep price tag) you should treat yourself and go to this place at least once – it's an amazing experience
You'll either gonna love this place (which we did) or feel like being in the wrong place in a bizarre parallel-universe … The place is just lovely in a completely over the top omg kind of way. A cramped living room style dinning room with the feel of someone's home (which is exactly what they are after). The food is not for the light and easy diner – after your meal you feel like rolling out of this place but well pampered with lovely attentative service.
Amazing, outstanding haute-cuisine food. Very attentative service at this deligthful little gourmet temple. While it was worrying whether quality standards could be maintained when Marcus Wareing and GR split (Wareing staying behind at Petrus' old location at the Berkeley Hotel) and GR only retained the pure name rights to Petrus but nothing more. No worries though – this is superp high-end cooking in a nice setting which works actually even better than the old location (as this is a more intimate setting with the circular wine “cellar” in the middle of the room creating a more private feel to the tables located around it). Ideal place for special dinner, fantastic wine list. Price level is what you will/have to expect at a place like this
Very laid-back and easy-going atmosphere at this modern Middle-Eastern influenced restaurant (but it's not Middle Eastern in any traditional Kebab type sense at all). Very fresh ingredients and most dishes have a light touch to them. Personal and attentive service.
Pure delight – if it where only easier to get a table at this outstanding foodie's paradise. The food is top notch with very attentative and good service. Brilliant place for a special dinner and to enjoy some of london's best cooking
