The Thomas Cubitt (44 Elizabeth Street, London, SW1W 9PA) We arrived half an hour before our reservation time but this was not a problem and we were shown immediately to our table on the first floor over looking Elizabeth Street. The Restaurant was in a very pleasant room and the staff were very professional and friendly. We ordered off the Set Lunch menu priced at £22 for 2 courses, this included a choice of 4 starters, 4 mains and 4 desserts. The Smoked Haddock Tart starter was very well presented and tasted as good as it looked. My partner ordered roasted butternut squash which was equally as good. For mains I had Rabbit and mushroom pie with shallots and baby carrots, with a side of red cabbage and my partner had Salmon on a bed of cullcanon and spinach. The Rabbit Pie was divine, loaded with fresh Rabbit and the Pastry melted in your mouth, worth the wait and definately one to try. The starters came quickly but we had to wait over 45 minutes for our mains to arrive. The Restaurant was extemely busy and the Head Waiter came over to apologise for the delay and offered us dessert on the house. Unfortunately we had to decline because we had to leave for an appointment, however this did not spoil our enjoyment and when in that area again I would certainly pay a visit. Good quality food and value for money lovely deco and surroundings, pleasant experience.
