Skinkers (42 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2SZ) We ate here on a Monday evening recently so it was quite quiet in the restaurant. The place is full of character and the seats are comfortable – very important in a restaurant. The service was ecellent. The white wine of the week (a verdejo) was lovely and great value. The red (a pinot noir) was also very good. The food was nicely presented, hot, and very tasty. The price was very reasonable considering the quality of food and wine. Altogether, we had a most pleasant evening. We would go back without hesitation and can happily give this restaurant a high recommendation. We also thought it would be very pleasant just to go there for a drink and a bar meal through the day.
