The Long Acre (1-3 Long Acre, London, WC2E 9LH) Once we sat down I was not impressed with the greasy refilled tomato ketchup bottle and battered menu cards. There was a wine price list but none for beer and wine. My friend ordered a beer and received a Leff Blanc at £3.80 (its one of thoes restaurant where all the extras ramp up the bill like a Ryan Air flight). The food was a grease-fest. My friend ordered a garlic bread as a started and a lasagna (£7.50) for a main. They both arrived together and both had way too much cheap cheese and was a heart-attack on a plate. I ordered scampie and chips at £7 as I was avoiding the majority of the menu which was very expensive £9.50 for a frozen pie anyone? My food arrived in a bamboo basket, and there were a six peices of scampie and a stingy serving of chips that had the acrid smell of fat that has been reused to many times. A service charge was added yet they keept the tip box open on the receipt. The double tipping rip-off scam. Any restaurant that does this does not respect it customers. In all £25.30 for a very disappointing pub lunch. A big mac and fries would have been nicer and healthier!
