Read the thread 13 October 2011How about the Spotted Cow in Angmering? I went there for lunch a couple of years back at Christmastime (though not on Christmas Day) and the food was fantastic. More
Read the thread 26 September 2011Duncan C – how many people is the party for and is there a particular part of London you'd prefer to be in? Exclusive or non-exclusive event? More
Read the thread March 2011The Grand Hall and HC and other such venues really don't do it for me (to be honest, they make me think of decorated sheds!) – this is why I prefer exclusive hire of a restaurant.
I think I must have looked at every page in the venues section so hoped someone could recommend somewhere to me where they've either organised or attended a good party for a similar amount of people. More
Read the thread March 2011Any suggestions on where we could have a Christmas party this year – 180 people for a sit down dinner and dancing in the West End or West Central side of London?
Have been to Roof Gardens, Meza and Bluebird in the past, and now looking for somewhere new for this year. I've sent out a few requests for information already, but want to be sure I haven't missed anywhere!
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I prefer not to book parties at hotels – a previous experience many moons ago at the Dorchester gave me a taste of hotel ‘mass catering’ – not good! More
Read the thread July 2010Yes, Avenue's a good idea and I know the mezzanine area you mention. However, I seem to recall that the birthday boy isn't that keen on Avenue, or maybe that was just because he went last year in the height of summer only to discover they don't (or didn't) have aircon! More
Read the thread July 2010Many thanks for your replies, very helpful.
In terms of location, Central or West is best so Cecconi's looks like it could be a good place for me to look at to start with (and the set menu looks delicious!). More
Read the thread July 2010Hi, I've got a dilemma.
I'm arranging a dinner for 14 pax – the brief is a private room in a fun restaurant with great food but I can't seem to find anywhere that combines all elements.
It's for a significant birthday celebration so a ‘wow’ venue would be good but it needs to be a fun and buzzy place too. I'd rather fun and buzzy than wow.
I don't want to book a private room which is completely cut off from the atmosphere of the restaurant so a partially screened off area would be ideal.
Great food but not at any cost. I'm thinking £50-60 per head.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance. More
