L'Oranger (5 St James's Street, London, London, SW1A 1EF)

One of my favourite restaurants

The cheese board is always wonderful along with the service and the table which are spaced apart well

Have had a number of memorable meals and whilst quite expensive it is a great place for that special occasion

only gripe I have ever had was once when they had a huge over bearing display of lilies, whose fragrance was so intoxicating it nearly ruined the meal.

Jamie's Italian St Martin's Courtyard (St Martin's Courtyard, 11 Upper St Martin's Lane, London, WC2H 9FB)

Very busy and enjoyable bistro type atmosphere.

Serice was very efficient and friendly

we ordered a number of items for starters including a wondeful marinated fresh anchovy dish. the only snag is the tables are rather small and there wasn't enough room !!!

Jamies own prosecco is wonderful, do try it and at around £23 not too expensive.

We ate one the ‘specials’ which was fresh mackeral seared on a charcoal grill served with a salad of peas and mint and it was gorgeous.

my only gripe was the over use of large flatbread, which on one courde and given a prevailing wind could have taken my friend and I on a tour of covent garden.

I will return

Odin's Restaurant (27 Devonshire Street, London, London, W1G 6PL)

April 2011

A very attractive room and lovely tables not too close together
Service excellent and the food too. (maybe I am greedy but portion sizes do seem to be getting smaller and this restaurant was the same)
looking forward to my next visit

Le Cafe du Marche (22 Charterhouse Square, London, London, EC1M 6BX)

April 2011

Always authentic french country atmosphere, but with that typical french arrogant service which is so annoying but not bad.

Food this time was good but not outstanding- venison not aged enough. again (this seems to be happening all too often these days) the portions were on the small side

Hix (66-70 Brewer Street, London, London, W1F 9UP)

8th May
portion size could be better.
Lemon sole with Cockles served with prawns (v.nice, but not cockles) apology received for not being advised. desert delicious but overpriced (jelly and ice cream)
Decor a little ‘cafe’ like but pleasant and tables not too close together
