Min Jiang at the Royal Garden Hotel (Royal Garden Hotel, 2-24 Kensington High Street, London, W8 4PT)

Love Ming Jiang.
Been several times and the amazing view over Hyde Park makes the bill worth it. It feels like a very special restaurant but make sure you ask for a window table if you can.
Excellent duck, slightly limited selection of food but everything the prepare is done well.
Great selection of Chinese teas.
Good service.

Quilon (41 Buckingham Gate, London, London, SW1E 6AF)

This is a fabulous Indian.
Food has an usual twist and is gently and subtley spiced.
Service is always discreet and attentive.
Cocktails are well made.
Definitely good value for money.
You can order several dishes as there is an option for a large or small portion.
Lacks a little on ambience as it is a hotel restaurant but otherwise can not fault Quilon.

The Greenhouse (27a Hay's Mews, London, London, W1J 5NY)

This restaurant was a huge disappointment.
Went for a romantic dinner for two, the restaurant felt very corporate, although tables weren't too close together. It didn't particularly have a special ambience.
The food was fine, however, the service left a lot to be desired. We had originally booked the restaurant on a set menu deal, however, upon looking at the set menu one of our party realised that they did not actually like/eat many things on the set menu and asked if there was a vegetarian option. To which the waiter replied: well if you are vegetarian we will have to provide one.
In the end we decided to eat off the a la carte menu at £70 for 3 courses. The person who had enquired about the vegetarian option chose fish to which the waiter rudely commented: “So not a vegetarian then.”
Service was slow, inattentive and trying to order a drink or get a water refill was a real ordeal.
Would not eat here again or recommend it.

Scott's (20 Mount Street, London, London, W1K 2HE)

Went here for a romantic birthday dinner. Asked for a nice table when we booked.
However, was seated at a table which was very close to other tables and not remotely romantic despite there being several empty tables which would have qualified as cosy and romantic.
When we asked to move tables we were told we could not and that the table next to us (on the end) was reserved for a regular.
When the regular showed up, we were virtually sat on top of each other and he did nothing but swear and talk loudly about sex the entire time we were there. I was mortified. We should have left. I have never sat anywhere and heard such offensive language. If this man was a regular, the staff would have been aware of this and should not have sat a couple on a romantic birthday dinner anywhere near this man.
Food was good.
Table service was good.
Decor is nice enough.
The overall experience, however, was ruined by tables being too close together and by sitting by such a vulguar man which was not expected in a restaurant of Scott's standards.
Incredibly disappointing and would not eat here again in the evening.
