Kenza (10 Devonshire Square, London, London, EC2M 4YP)

Terrible.

The decor of the place is nice, and I have to say the wine we had was also of a good standard. However, the dining experience was shambolic. The serving staff were as incompetent as they were rude. The food can at best be described as kebab shop standard. My starter of sausages was inedible. My “mixed grill” was overcooked, dry and the quality of the meat was a disgrace.

I asked for the bill. I asked again. The third time it came. I took off the service – they didn't even blink. They didn't bring it back so had to ask to pay another two times. Asked to speak to the manager who could not have cared less if he tried.

And the belly dancers! We saw one all night. It was like watching your mother in law on holiday in Turkey.

A truly painful experience. I am a regular city diner and this is by a country mile the worst place in the city.
