I just wanted to share with you my very bad experience as it's a first there.
So I went for dinner with my girlfriend to Aqua Kyoto last night. As expected (and already tried) the food was very good and our waiter both good and nice.
But there was a big problem. Two tables from us was a group of 5 very very noisy drunk girls continuously shouting at each other. It was awful and definitely not up to the standard of such a place and ruined our evening. We had a chat about it with the manager who could only say ‘they are having a good time’. Despite the complaint he didn't make anything to stop it nor offered any commercial gesture. We had to left without having a dessert (even though we wanted one) and obviously refused to pay the service charge (again the waiter was good and would have deserved it).
That's just totally unacceptable from such a restaurant and would never had happened at any other high end japanese place I regularly go to (Zuma, Nobu, Roka, Sumosan, etc).
I don't see any reason to come back and would advice you to not go.
