Awana (85 Sloane Avenue, London, London, SW3 3DX)

I visited Awana via a Groupon deal which claimed that I would get a £50 set menu for £19 – the offer was very tempting and I had enjoyed the food there a few years back. From the moment I stepped into Awana, I was extremely disappointed – it seemed to be crammed full of other Groupon customers and we were being treated as a converyor belt scenario. The food was very disappointing and way too overpriced – would not have paid £50 for a meal which lacked in quality and taste. When I complained to the waitress, I was told to stop complaining as I had purchased a ‘deal’ – was shocked by the attitude. But the worst thing to happen was when the bill arrived, we were told to pay service charge of 12.5% on the full amount!!! It was one of the worst places I have ever been to – overpriced, total lack of customer service, disappointing food and complete lack of atmosphere. I will not be going back there again!

Trishna (15-17 Blandford Street, London, London, W1U 3DG)

Trishna is a prime example of a restaurant where too much fusion has gone completely wrong! Overall we were dissatisfied with the restaurant – the portions were tiny and the food was extremely bland. The service was also extemely slow and they put us on a table at the back of the restaurant near the bar which had no atmosphere whatsoever. My starter (whitebait with chilli sauce) was absolutely disgusting and when I didn't eat all of it, they didn't even offer to bring me another starter. The only authentic thing about the restaurant was the dessert – gulab jamun was very good but again only one small piece per plate. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone – overall very disappointing and not good value for money.
