Catastrophe! A year ago one could get a decent meal here – God knows what they think they have done to it. At lunch time on Sept 4, two thirds of the space was completely abandoned. The ‘Sunday Lunch Menu’ was brief, dated for July and August and mainly snacks, cold plates to share etc. It was a bit like a greasy spoon cocktail bar in Rhyl out of season and, deservedly, empty but not cheap. Friendly service but a terrible waste of an opportunity – avoid.

This is quite simply the best restaurant in Islington. After the sad passing of the Gill Wing Cafe and an absurd pc disaster which followed it, the premises have languished for too long and then suddenly, from nowhere, perfect short delicious menu, excellent wines, charming service and already crowded. Almost too good to be true – enjoy it quick before it fades.
