Bit like meting an old flame after some years and then wondering why you went out with them!

The Wolseley (160 Piccadilly, London, London, W1J 9EB) Scrambled eggs, brioche, good company for breakfast. What more do you need for days like these!

The River Café (Thames Wharf, London, London, W6 9HA) This restaurant is a performance in cooking, style and presentation. The staff are really helpful and friendly and it was just a great night. Everything is so fresh and you just think how do they do this. The chocolate cake! If | had a pound for every time I said ‘so good’ last night I would be a millionaire. A real restaurant for the people.

Assaggi (39 Chepstow Place, London, W2 4TS) In December the only experiance that was ‘mancante’ was the table under the stars and 30 degrees of heat. This restaurant is sunshine.

Le Boudin Blanc (5 Trebeck Street, London, W1J 7LT) For a Saturday night with a quartet of really good friends this is a diamond. Go for a table in the main room and just enjoy the rollercoaster. Interact with the staff, try your hand at a bit of French, and it flows. Geoff K

Le Caprice (Arlington House, Arlington Street, London, London, SW1A 1RJ) Take your best friend, let Le Caprice close the door behind you, and just enjoy, probably the most charming & entertaining restaurant in London. One can't ask for more. Geoff Kite
