Lena Restaurant (66 Great Eastern Street, London, EC2A 3JT)

3 COURSES FOR £14!!! Lena is not only a cool and tasty Italian it is a generous Italian.!!The £14, 3 course set menu was incredible; the quality of the food is the same standard as the al la carte and the service was friendly as ever. If you haven't been to Lena I suggest you do; it's not often you can sit in such luxury for only £14!!!

The Marquess Tavern (32 Canonbury Street, London, N1 2TB)

The Marquess is a deceiving venue – The appearance from outside suggests it is just a pub. Until you go in you wouldn't believe there is a chandelier conservatory dinning room at the back! And you definitely wouldn't believe that the food is better than 80% of what is on offer on Upper Street and at good value. I ordered the steak which was cooked to perfection and served with homemade chips – even the mayonnaise is home-made! As I said it is deceiving and definitely worth a try!

Idlewild (55 Shirland Road, London, W9 2JD)

Does anyone else hear ‘2 for 1 cocktails’ and only see ‘woo-woos’ and ‘carton-based sex-on-beach’?!?! Well, I do and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by the Idlewild – the staff new exactly what they were doing, they were not under-pouring the alcohol content and they were all presented to us beautifully. It is an offer that I will gladly take of advantage of!!
