Osteria dell'Arancio (383 King's Road, London, London, SW10 0LP)

A wonderful place for lunch and dinner – the management is superb and the wine list should not be read just ask Mauritzio and you will have your palate opened up to flavours from Italy that you wouldn't imagine. I've eaten here many times over many years and never been disappointed.

The food is fresh and well cooked with none of that over-rated and over-sold italian rubbish found in so many other restaurants.

Best time of the year is Autumn – there is nothing that this team doesn't know about truffles!

Chabrot Bistrot d'Amis (9 Knightsbridge Green, London, London, SW1X 7QL)

This is one of the hidden gems of London – utterly superb. Not only is it rare to be able to get proper, honest and wholesome french cuisine; but to have that accompanied by a well thought through, grand, but affordable wine-list is amazing. The service is very welcoming and knowledgeable, if a little over familiar – but if this restaurant was not in London, but in a remote village, people would travel from far and wide to visit.
