Talad Thai (320 Upper Richmond Road, London, SW15 6TL)

Simple. Authentic. Easy. Tasty.

I am a regular at the Talad Supermarket (Excellent selection!) and on my first visit to the restaurant, I was pleasantly suprised. No booking required (early Sunday evening), service was smooth, varied menu with all the usual suspects and evrything was delicious. Felt authentic due to Western music playing on the stereo (so just like Thailand!) which although different; works towards the informal vibe.

I recommend Talad Thai to anyone looking for a tasty and informal Thai meal. Whether couples, friends or family – it works all the same.

Thai Square Putney (2-4 Lower Richmond Road, London, London, SW15 1LB)

A winner every time!

Many visits in and I'm not yet bored. The menu is always a sight for sore eyes and the wine list is good. Service is well timed and the staff are lovely.

Whether a group, 1st date, boys/girls night out or anniversary – the place is spot-on.

Friday/Saturday nights are good for a few drinks after the meal; downstairs in the bar. Young crowd, loud music and 50/50 men & women.

Haven't yet been to another Thai Square (only live up the road from Putney Thai Square, so why bother?!) but everyone I speak to has nothing bad to say about this chain.

Tsunami (93 Charlotte Street, London, W1T 4PY)

Friend and I sat at the back of the restaurant, which has a simple, funky, feel, when busy. Enjoyed the relaxed crowd – mixed types, mixed dress codes which improved the already chilled atmosphere. If you are looking for romantic, intimate, etc., this is not the place. A group would enjoy it here and a second/third date would approve.

My guest & I were Japanese Menu virgins (always had someone else order for me!) and decided to order everything as a first line of defense. That was, until the Waiter appeared who guided us through the basics without making us feel stupid and offered suggestions without taking advantage.

The wine selection was good and we enjoyed every dish we ordered.

I liked it and I will return when next in the neighbourhood.
