Suksan (7 Park Walk, London, SW10 0AJ)

Sometimes we would want to keep hidden gems for ourselves, because if they are discovered, it will be much harder to get a table easily. Suksan is that type of place. Opened fairly recently in the same spot as a previous Thai restaurant, the food is way above the previous one. Maybe that's why it's still undiscovered.

The decor is nice and has the usual Thai artifacts found in upscale restaurants: carved wood, Thai deities, statues, etc in a contemporary setting, beige and brown. But the real treat is the food. The menu has the traditional dishes, but the quality and freshness of the ingredients and the masterful cooking is what delights. The food strikes a rare balance between flavour and subtlety.

I have been at Suksan 3 or 4 times now and have tried different dishes on the menu, and have not been disappointed. I have been to similar or much more expensive Thai restaurants in London and Suksan better than most. One of the weak point is service can be overwhelmed and slow when it's busy.

Here it is. The secret is out… Enjoy!
