Brunswick House Café (30 Wandsworth Road, Vauxhall Cross, London, SW8 2LG) We went here for a friend's birthday meal. Very disappointing. Apart from the service from Jermain the rest of the staff could hardly seem to be bothered. The menu was extremely limited and when we enquired about side dishes like potatoes or chips we were met with an astonished look. We didn't bother with pudding as again the selection was limited and didn't seem worth the paper it was written on, so moved onto Soho for coffee and desert. The lighting was almost non existent – perhaps they were attempting a certain ambience but unfortunately it resulted in diners hardly being able to see their food – perhaps that was the aim! Even the jug of water was warm, it wouldn't have taken any effort to have added a bit of ice and lemon. Wouldn't revisit and certainly wouldn't recommend anyone waste either their time or money.
