The Goring (bar) (The Goring, Beeston Place, London, SW1W 0JW)

It is one of the remaining bastions of old school which is proper throughout. The ambiance, the visitors the service and the vine list are truly outstanding. It has a variety of sittings and the staff is very thoughtful (apart from some temporary college types). I would highly recommend to anyone appreciating the Great Britain syle.

Mango Tree (46 Grosvenor Place, London, SW1X 7EQ)

I was going to this restaurant regularly for the last 10 years mainly because of its location and the uber feel of it. The food at times was quite good, especially when you instruct the order in a presise way. The main attraction of the place still is the athmosphere maintained by the owners effort, the regulars and the interior desighn. The athmosphere is of decadance. They have a decent wine list and I had some of the finest red Burgundy in my experience there. Unfortunately, the service alikes to a fast soho chinese place. Rushed and confused, they put wrong orders, put wrong charges on a bill up to four times of original order. The staff organisation is awful. You might be served by five different persons and creates difficulties in tacking the order and the bill. The divisionals perhaps are carried away with the work role attitude and often forget who are they talking to. Quite often that appear pushy, obnoctious, crazed by radio devices sticking out their heads. On the occasion one would like to enjoy the athmosphere of “buzz” with addition of crazed exotica i would recommend this place.

Esarn Kheaw (314 Uxbridge Road, London, W12 7LJ)

To be laconic, I would rate it best Thai now in London .
It is surpasses by far the Nahd, Mango and Patara (Kensington) an and others in terms of food quality and national speciality. Quite distinctive to this place I‘d put it friendliness without servility.
I tried this place with a bit of suspision because of the One review only available, but it turned out to be really nice. (My friends connoisseurs were equally impressed, bit it is my review now)
The place is actually (authentic)

The food presentation (form) is avarage but the taste and substance was very different.
There was ordered the following: papaya salad, prawn salad, grilled catfish, stir fried squid, tofu, (soup.rice and something else). The vegetables were fresh and not commercial.
I enjoyed the freshness and composition of every dish I had. The style of the proper was to feel and to compare to the previous examles.
Unusially authentic taste of papaya salad really encouraged me. I was not disappointed with the rest. I only disliked the bouquet of my grilled prawn salad ( the bitterrness of the grill was weghning over a bit too much for me) but that was just my taste I suppose.
The food list is above average extensive (takes some time to read, but there was no rush). There is no extras you might look for, but their French wine was good (including sparkling) and was priced all right as well.
The restaurant is really for connaisseurs (food lovers). The service however was proper, with linen napkins.
Enjoy.
