Bistro Aix (54 Topsfield Parade, Tottenham Lane, London, London, N8 8PT)

I've lived locally for three years now and I never get tired of going to this restaurant. The a la carte is quite reasonable and during the week the prix fixe is a steal. Service can seem a little cold at times but that is only a minor quibble and if you are used to eating regularly in France then you probably wont even notice. Food is top drawer, although they could do with keeping the terrine out of the fridge as if you are an early bird it will be coldd and therefore the taste will be impaired. Other than that I've never had a bad dish here, its definitely the place to eat in North London, and the only place I have had better food in town was in South Kensington at a much more expensive bistro.

La Bouchée (56 Old Brompton Road, London, SW7 3DY)

I just read the other reviews on here and I could not recognise the restaurant they were describing. This Bistro is an absolute gem with charming staff and incredible food. The only fault I have ever had is once when they did not suffivient strain the fish soup so there were some minute shell particles left from the stock, on the upside it shows the quality of the fish soup! It is expensive however and I couldn't afford to eat here every week.
