Nobu Berkeley St (15 Berkeley Street, London, London, W1J 8DY) Wanted the NOBU experience! Felt let down by dismissive reception staff error in booking and having to wait 45mins to seat and forgotten ordered items of food. Majority of staff were very friendly although some obviously too use to dealing with celebs and think anyone else not worthy of similar treatment. However unless the ‘celebs’ are paying extra which I seriously doubt then all customers warrant a smile and friendly service at the prices being paid. Loved the loud noisy atmosphere of the bar but found it hard work once in the restaurant and struggling to hear companions conversation. Unfortunately have decided I dont like the majority of Japanese food and struggled to see what defined this over other Japanese restaurants. However two of my fellow diners raved about the food so it is obviously down to personal taste, although I still think Marks & Spencers Sushi tastes the same. Food choices were guided by our waiter who wanted to give us a wide sample of what was on offer, 2 of the items never turned up, and on reflection would have preferred to have ordered what I know I would have enjoyed. I cant say I would rush back for the food enjoyed the buzzy bar and the hype surrounding the place but overall dont think it would be rated as good value for money.
